HUNTSVILLE, ALA. – Delta State University men's soccer team lost the opening game of Gulf South Conference play 4-0 to the University of Alabama in Huntsville on Friday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
	- UAH got the first goal of the game in the 37th minute by Rafa Moreno.
- In the 40th minute Tucker Watts picked up a red card for the Chargers.
- Khalil Nell scored goal number two for UAH in the 53rd minute.
- 59 minutes in Miguel Novo Villar earned a yellow card for the Statesmen which led to the third goal for UAH via a penalty kick by Rafa Moreno.
- Ethan Wilson scored the fourth and final goal for the Chargers in the 63rd minute.
BEYOND THE NUMBERS:
	- Statesmen had ten shots but only three were on target.
- There were a combined 36 fouls in the game. DSU committed 13 while UAH had 23.
- Seven cards were also handed out in the game. UAH had five yellow and a red while the Statesmen had three yellow.
- Louis Ferguson, Daniel Himahy, and Bruno Osorio led the way for the Statesmen with two shots apiece..
- Lorenz Kopp and Myron Duffy both added shots on frame as well.
