Anoucke Baas scored the lone goal of the match in the 98th minute to give the Delta State University women's soccer team a 1-0 victory over Alabama Huntsville, on Friday at Charger Park.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The two sides relied on defense in the first half, as the opening 45 minutes ended with just three total shots.
- UAH took advantage of a DSU red card in the 62nd minute, firing 12 shots in the next 28 minutes.
- After a pair of chances in overtime for UAH, the Lady Statesmen won a throw in deep in the UAH half. After a failed clearance, Baas' effort smacked off the bottom of the crossbar and into the goal.
- The reigning GSC Freshman of the Week, Amanda Hilliard, had seven saves for the Lady Statesmen.
- UAH finished the contest with a 20-7 advantage in shots.
STAT OF THE GAME:
- Hilliard kept the Lady Statesmen in the game with seven saves.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
- The victory over UAH was the first for DSU against the Chargers since 2013.
- The win was the first for the Lady Statesmen in their GSC opener since a 1-0 triumph over Christian Brothers in 2008.
- DSU has played, and earned a result, in back-to-back overtime games.
- Hilliard has not allowed a goal in the last 174 minutes.
