CLEVELAND, MISS. – After the Delta State University Men's Soccer team built a 2-0 lead on Mississippi College, Caleb Carpenter's header off of a cross by Owen Connolly from the left wing lifted the Choctaws to a 3-2, double overtime, victory over the Statesmen in the 108
th minute at Delta Field. MC finished the match with 15 shots and five corners, while DSU recorded five shots and four corners.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- DSU took a 1-0 lead on Bruno Osorio's first goal of the season in the 30th minute of the first half. It was the first goal of the season for the junior from Barcelona, Spain.
- Carlos Bestard, a freshman from Palma de Mallorca, Spain, put the Statesmen up 2-0 in the 78th minute after blasting a shot to the back of the net off of an assist from Bobby Wahl.
- Tom Carles answered back for MC in the 79th minute to cut the Choctaws' deficit to 2-1. Connor Johnson provided the assist.
- Javier Avelar's shot off a free kick outside the 18 found the net in the 85th minute tied the match at 2-2.
- After a full 90 minutes, the match headed to overtime. In the first OT period, both teams had opportunities for goals, but saves by the keepers kept it knotted at 2-2.
- Carpenter's header off of a cross by Owen Connolly from the left wing lifted the Choctaws to the 3-2, double overtime, victory in the 108th minute.
- MC ended the match with 17 shots, including 12 on goal.
- DSU recorded five shots, with four on goal.
STAT OF THE MATCH:

- Matthew Klinck, a junior from Southaven, played all 108 minutes in goal, making a career-high seven saves after facing 12 shots.
- Keaton Halbert also played the entire match in goal for MC, recording one save.
- Friday's match was the first to go into overtime this season for the Statesmen.
- Delta State finished the match with just eight men.
- The Choctaws defeated Delta State, 2-1, in the last meeting between the two schools.
