VALDOSTA, Ga.- The Delta State University women's soccer team dropped a heartbreaker on the road Sunday afternoon to Valdosta State University 1-0. The Lady Blazers scored the only goal of the game in the 89^th minute of the contest. The Lady Statesmen have still never defeated the Lady Blazers.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Valdosta State dominated the early portion of the game out shooting DSU 4-1.
• The middle section of the first half brought forth several opportunities for DSU but could not find the back of the net
• Delta State's best chance came in the 64^th minute when Alexis Hobbs' shot was punched over the crossbar by the Valdosta goal keeper.
• Ashley Lewis scored the only goal of the game in the 89^th minute for her sixth of the season.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• VSU outshot DSU 15-10 including 10-8 on target.
• There were 15 fouls in the game committed by DSU with VSU recording eight fouls.
• DSU earned one yellow and Valdosta had two.
• Diana Okechukwu led the way for DSU with three shots and all of them on goal.
