Tylor Davis' Late Goal Brings Delta State to a Tie With Shorter

ROME, Ga.- Late game heroics from junior forward Tylor Davis brings Delta State University men's soccer team to a draw with a Shorter University on Friday evening. The goal from Davis came with just 30 seconds left in regulation. Neither team could manage to score in overtime to end the game in a tie.

  • Shorter brought the pressure first with several shots in minutes.
  • In the 31st minute, goal keeper Matthew Klinck fouled a Shorter player in the box and Val Evans scored the penalty kick to take the lead.
  • One minute in the second half, Komakur Thorsson scored on a corner kick taken by Tom Bar-Yosef to equalize the game.
  • 67 minutes in the game Shorter retook the lead on a goal from Jackson Wheatley.
  • In the final thirty seconds, Grant Foley fed a ball to Tylor Davis who scored to tie the game up.

  • DSU had 10 shots with eight on goal while Shorter took 15 shots with 10 on goal.
  • Delta State earned three yellow cards in a physical match.
