ROME, Ga.- For the second time in three games, Tasha Toms converts a penalty kick to lead the Delta State University women's soccer team to a victory in Gulf South Conference play. The Lady Statesmen get their second win of the season and a victory in their first road game of the year.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Neither team got off to a fast start as it was eight minutes before either team attempted a shot.
• Shorter took the first shot but it was saved by Amanda Hilliiard.
• The only goal of the match came in the 18^th minute. A Lady Statesmen was fouled and then Tasha Toms converted the penalty kick to give DSU the lead.

• DSU had 12 shots with eight on goal while Shorter took six shots with four on goal.
• Delta State earned four yellow cards in a physical match.
• Between the two teams there 28 fouls called.
• The Lady Statesmen pushed the pressure and got caught offside five times in the game.
