CLEVELAND, Miss. – Delta State University Head Baseball Coach Rodney Batts announced the signing of left-handed pitcher Wesley Grantham on Tuesday.

Grantham was an All-MACJC selection during his two seasons at East Mississippi Community College before signing with Mississippi State University for the fall 2019.

"We are excited to add Wesley to our team for the 2020 season," Batts said. "Wesley is a lefty with good velocity on his fastball and plus secondary pitches."

Grantham posted a team-best 5-3 pitching record with a 3.48 earned run average at East Mississippi Community College in 2019. Grantham posted a 4-2 mark and 2.48 ERA in MACJC conference games.

The Terry, Miss., native tallied 57 strikeouts against 25 walks in 51.2 innings pitched, tossing three complete games. Grantham threw a five-hit 8-0 shutout over Mississippi Delta in which he fanned seven and walked only one.

The former Central Hinds Academy standout worked 27.2 innings with a 2-1 record, and 20 strikeouts in 2018 for EMCC.

Grantham is eligible to play for the Statesmen for 2020 season.
