CLEVELAND, Miss.- The Delta State University women's soccer team earned a victory on the final home game of the season defeating Auburn University Montgomery 2-0. The win gave the Lady Statesmen their fifth win in GSC play tying the record they set last year for most in school history. Before the game the Lady Statesmen honored ten seniors.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Delta State moved quickly with a shot in the first 30 seconds that forced a save from AUM.
• The Lady Statesmen continued to bring the pressure with several shots in the first ten minutes.
• Diana Okechukwu scored the opening goal of the game in the 36^th minute. She took the ball from 20 yards out and ran it all the way in before slotting it past the AUM goalie.
• In the 39^th minute Anoucke Baas hit the crossbar.
• Two minutes after halftime, Anna Whitehead received a pass from Okechukwu and fired it in the back of the net for the second and final goal of the game.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• DSU had the most shots of the season with 22 and 12 on goal.
• AUM had six shots and five of those on goal.
• Amanda Hilliard had four saves in the game.
• Chloe Kistler from AUM had eight saves
• The Warhawks had one yellow card issued.
