CLEVELAND, Miss. - The Delta State University football team opens spring practices on Thursday, Feb. 28 at Parker Field-McCool Stadium, as announced by head coach
Todd Cooley. Thursday's opening session will begin at 3:20 p.m. and all practices are open to the public. A complete schedule of practices is listed below.
"Our guys are excited to get back out on the field and start preparing for the 2019 campaign," Cooley said. "With several staff changes and several new additions to the family, this spring will be very important for us as we plan to make a major stride this coming year."
The Statesmen have new coordinators on both sides of the ball, but all three coaches have been with the family for a while.
"I was very excited to have the opportunity to promote
Kelvin Green to defensive coordinator while elevating
Jonathan Fletcher to run game coordinator and
Tyler Hasty to pass game coordinator," Cooley added. "They've been working diligently to prepare for this opportunity and I'm looking forward to working with them in their new roles."
Delta State culminates spring exercises on Thursday, April 4 with the annual Green & White Classic. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
The following day, Cooley and the staff will host the sixth annual Delta State Football Family Golf Tournament and Draw Down at the Cleveland Country Club. Additional information about the event will be available later this week on GoStatesmen.com.
