CLEVELAND, Miss. - The Delta State University women's tennis team fell to the University of Louisiana at Monroe 7-2 on Tuesday, Feb. 26 at the Cleveland Country Club. The Lady Statesmen moved to 1-3 on the season, with two of their losses coming against NCAA Division I competition.
In the loss to ULM,
Fabiola Cardenas and
Nathalia Sato claimed DSU's lone win at No. 1 doubles with a 6-4 victory over Teodora Radu and Tiffany Phaysouphan.
Cardenas also claimed the victory at No. 1 singles, defeating Tiffany Phaysouphan in straight sets 6-3, 6-0.
Delta State returns to action on Friday, Mar. 1, as the Lady Statesmen host Christian Brothers University in a Gulf South Conference match at the Cleveland Country Club. Match time is set for 2 p.m.
