ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - The Delta State University women's tennis team split a series of weekend matches this past Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 23-24, falling to Angelo State University 8-1 before defeating Ouachita Baptist University by the same score. The Lady Statesmen moved to 1-2 on the season with the split. Complete match results are listed below.
In the loss to ASU,
Fabiola Cardenas and
Nathalia Sato claimed DSU's lone win at No. 1 doubles with a 7-5 victory over Valentina Gonzalez and Ena Ovcina.
The Lady Statesmen bounced back with a crushing, 8-1, win over OBU, including wins at all six singles flights.
Delta State returns to action on Tuesday, Feb. 26, as the Lady Statesmen host the University of Louisiana-Monroe at the Cleveland Country Club. Match time is set for 1 p.m.
