MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Delta State Softball completed the series sweep over Christian Brothers University with a 4-2 win on Sunday March 17, 2019. The Lady Statesmen were led by big at bats from
Taylor Picou and another impressive pitching performance by
Nicole Fullilove.

How It Happened:
- Taylor Picou put DSU on the board in the top of the second with a solo home run to right center.
- An error by CBU's right fielder plated Kelly Byrd giving DSU 2-0 in the top of the third.
- The Lady Bucs made it on the board in the bottom of the third after Ashley Dyer's RBI double to right center.
- DSU extended their lead 3-1 in the top of the fourth thanks to an RBI single to left field by Mallory Myers.
- A solo home run by CBU's Sierria Anderson cut the Lady Statesmen's lead 3-2.
- The Lady Statesmen scored one run in the top of the fifth after Ty'mya Johnson's single to right field plated Jordan Jones.
In the Circle:
- Nicole Fullilove (11-6) received the win for DSU. Fullilove gave up two runs off four hits while striking out six.
- Julia Schassburger (1-7) got the start for the Lady Bucs. Schassburger gave up four runs off nine hits through seven innings of work.
Beyond the Box Score:
- Picou's solo home run in the second inning was her fourth home run this season.
- Picou (2-3) and Vice (2-3) both had multi-hit games for DSU.
- Fullilove has won her last six starts.
