CLEVELAND, Miss.- The Delta State University men's soccer team dropped the opening game of Gulf South Conference play on Friday 3-0 to the University of Alabama in Huntsville. The loss snapped a three game win for the Statesmen

HOW IT HAPPENED
	- Neither team was able to get any early momentum as there wasn't a recorded a shot in the first ten minutes
- In the 29th minute, UAH picked up its first yellow card of the match.
- Their second came in the 57th minute, which was then followed by their third in the 59th minute.
- Connor Young scored the only goal of the match in the 66th minute.
- The Statesmen had three shots in the last ten minutes but could not find the back of the net.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
	- Mattis Kloepper started the match in goal for DSU but only played six minutes. Matthew Klinck came in as a sub and had three saves.
- Both teams had nine shots in the contest while UAH had one more shot on goal.
- UAH had 11 fouls to DSU's eight in the game.
- Tylor Davis led the way for the Statesmen with four shots in the match.
 
NOTABLES
	- This is the second straight year DSU has lost to UAH and is now 2-17 all-time versus the Chargers.
