Box Score CLEVELAND, TN. – After a competitive first half, a very strong second half for the Lee University Flames was the difference as they pulled away from the Delta State University men's basketball team on Saturday afternoon for a 87-56 victory. The Statesmen dropped their sixth straight game after winning four straight.
Airen Brooks led the Statesmen with 15 points and 10 rebounds for yet another double-double.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Flames took the first substantial lead 6-2 with 17:41 in the half.
- A jumper from DSU's Airen Brooks tied the game 6-6 with 15:55 remaining.
- Thanks to a four-point play by Keyshaun Street the Statesmen led 15-13 with 12:48 left in the first half.
- Lee University tied the game at 20 apiece with 9:47 left on the clock.
- A layup from freshman Malik Cartwright gave the Statesmen a three-point lead, 25-2 with 7:10 left in the half.
- With 3:12 left in the half the Lee Flames led DSU 30-27.
- Lee University would take their three-point lead into half time, 34-31.
- The Flames got off to a great second half taking a double-digit lead, 42-33 with 18:24 left in the second half.
- With 15:17 left on the clock Lee led the Statesmen 51-37.
- Lee University stretched their lead to 22, 61-39 with 10:55 still on the clock.
- Caleb Henry broke the drought for the Statesmen with a jumper cutting the Flames lead to 26, 67-41, with 7:43 remaining in the game.
- The Flames continued to back baskets at a consistent rate, resulting in their 74-46 lead with 4:29 left in the game.
- With 58 seconds remaining Lee extended their lead to 31, 84-53.
- The Flames went on to win by 31, 87-56.
TURNING POINT: The Flames went on a 11-0 run in the first two minutes of the half to make it a 14 point lead and they never looked back.
STAT OF THE GAME: Lee out rebounded the Statesmen 44-27 including a 12-2 difference on the offensive glass.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
- Statesmen had ten guys score in the game.
- Lee was 11-30 from beyond the arc while DSU was 7-24.
- The Flames had four players score 11 or more points while DSU had two.
