MEN'S GOLF
- Delta State opens up the fall segment of its season on Monday, Oct. 12 as Delta State hosts the Derrall Foreman Invitational at the Cleveland Country Club in Cleveland, Miss.
- The Statesmen return four players from last year's team, including Landon Cottrell, John-Crawford Counts, Mitchell Fifer, and Will Kidder. The Green and White also welcome newcomers Landon Carner (Memphis), Willie Hammond (Southern Miss.), and Jake Kight (Memphis)
- DSU will look to defend its title in the event, as the Statesmen won last year's event by 46 strokes, shooting a 33-under-831
- Cottrell finished tied for 14th in last year's event, shooting a 6-over-222, while Counts finished tied for 16th with a 7-over-223 for the Statesmen. Fifer shot a 10-over-226 to finish tied for 21 in last year's tournament
- DSU will play two other events this fall after this week; the Matt Dyas Invitational hosted by the University of West Georgia in Carrollton, Ga., and the UNG Invitational hosted by the University of North Georgia in Gainsville, Ga.
CROSS COUNTRY
- The Lady Statesmen compete in their third event of the 2020 season when they race in the Little Rock Open 5K hosted by the University of Arkansas at Little Rock
- Bailey Pounds, a freshman from Brookhaven, Miss., has been DSU's top finisher in the team's opening two races, including helping the Lady Statesmen finish third at the University of North Alabama Invitational on Friday, Sept. 25
- The Green and White conclude the 2020 campaign with the Gulf South Conference Championships in Huntsville, Ala. on Saturday, Oct. 31
WOMEN'S SWIMMING & DIVING
- The Lady Statesmen will swim the opening meet of the 2020-2021 season when they hit the pool on Saturday, Oct. 17 at the Ronald G. Mayers Aquatic Center
- The meet will begin with diving at 9 a.m., followed by an 11:30 a.m. start for the swimming events
