ARKADELPHIA, Ark. -- Henderson State University (5-9, 2-4 GAC) scored eight unanswered runs to erase a six-run deficit and take an 8-6 win over Delta State University baseball team (10-4, 4-2 GSC) at Clyde Berry Field on Tuesday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Statesmen struck for six runs with two outs in the fourth inning to take a 6-0 lead. CJ Estave singled followed by walks to Jared Cramer and Blake Wolferding to load the bases. Jake Barlow singled to center field to plate Estave and Cramer. Michael Buck then drove in two runs with a single center and came in to score on an infield single by Wyatt Pratt.
- A Cade Tucker RBI double in the bottom half of the fourth got Henderson State on the board and made it 6-1.
- The Reddies cut the DSU lead to 6-5 with a four-run fifth inning. Alex Lewis, Joe Meyers and Greyson Stevens delivered RBI singles while a run scored on a balk.
- Henderson State put the tying and go-ahead runs on base in the seventh before Patrick Hodges got Tucker to ground into a double play to end the inning.
- The Reddies scored three-runs in the bottom of the eighth to take an 8-6 lead. Jordan Rusnak executed a squeeze bunt for a single to tie the game 6-6. Caleb Carr followed with a two-run double down the left field line to put HSU ahead 8-6.
- CJ Estave was hit by a pitch to start the Statesmen ninth, only to see Cade Tucker notch two strikeouts and a fly out to end the game.
ON THE MOUND
- Hodges (0-1) suffered the loss for the Statesmen, allowing two runs, one earned, on no hits with two strikeouts and two walks.
- Drake Salsman (1-3) gave up one hit with two strikeouts in a scoreless inning pitched to get the win.
- Tucker (1) recorded two strikeouts in a scoreless ninth inning for the save.
NOTABLES:
- Barlow finished 2-for-5 with two RBI.
- Buck went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI in his first start as a Statesmen.
- Ragland was 2-for-4 and was hit by a pitch.
- The Statesmen left nine runners on base and was 4-for-11 with runners in scoring position.
- Lewis went 2-for-4 with an RBI and Tucker had a two-run double to lead the Reddies.
