CLEVELAND, Miss. – Ouachita Baptist University (9-12) used a five-run fourth inning to take the lead for good on its way to a 9-5 win over the Delta State University baseball team (12-10) on Tuesday at Harvey Stadium-Ferriss Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
	- Delta State claimed a 1-0 lead in the first inning. Kevin Grangers singled to left field and later came home on a fielding error by the Tiger's first baseman.
- The Tigers tied the game 1-1 in the fourth. Matt Bryant reached on a fielding error and, after stealing second, scored on another fielding error by the Statesmen.
- OBU used a five-run fourth to grab a 6-1 lead. Cole Kelly reached on a fielder's choice with the base loaded to score the first run of the inning. Simmons Sowell followed with two-run single and Tyler Riebock delivered an RBI single.
- Delta State cut the deficit to 6-5 in the fourth. Jake Barlow and Myles Christian singled to start the inning. Josh Smeltzer's single scored Barlow, and Christian scored on a throwing error on a pickoff attempt at first. Chad Ragland then reached on a fielder's choice to score Smeltzer and Sargent doubled and scored on a Granger sacrifice-fly to right.
- Kelly had a one-out single and later scored on a Sowell sac-fly to give OBU a 7-5 lead in the sixth.
- OBU added two runs in the ninth to build the lead to 9-5 on a two-run RBI single by Kelly.
- Logan Honeycutt retired nine straight Statesmen to close the game and seal the win for OBU.
ON THE MOUND
	- Honeycutt (1-0) struck out seven and did not allow a hit over 6.0 scoreless innings of work to earn the win.
- Kole Kittrell yielded four runs on a hit with three walks and one strikeout in 0.2 innings pitched to take the loss for the Statesmen.
- DSU starter Wesley Grantham tossed 3.0 solid innings, giving up one run on one hit with three strikeouts.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
	- Smeltzer finished 2-for-4 with an RBI as the only Statesmen with multiple hits.
- Ragland, Granger, Barlow, Christian and Sargent each collected hits for the Green-and-White.
- Riebock went 2-for-4 with an RBI and Kelly finished 2-for-5 with two runs scored and three RBI to lead OBU offensively.
