CLEVELAND, Miss. -- Delta State University head men's soccer coach
Andy Robertson announced the signing of Ivar Spendler to the incoming class for the Statesmen.
"Ivar is a left-sided player who will be coming in to fill a big void for us with the departure of graduating senior captain
Myron Duffy," said Robertson. "He is a hard working, versatile player that can be used anywhere on the left hand side of the field."
Spendler, a left back, enters the program as a freshman for the Green-and-White after attending Katedralskolan. The Vaxjo, Sweden native also represented Växjö Norra IF's academy Under-19 team.
"He has primarily played left back, but we feel like he has a chance to succeed on the left side of our formations," said Robertson. "Some of his best attributes include his 1-on-1 defending, his work ethic, and his ability to get up and down the line with ease."
