CLEVELAND, Miss. -- Delta State University men's soccer coach Andy Robertson announced the signing of Jakob Thorup-Petersen to the incoming Statesmen soccer recruiting class.

"Jakob is a forward from club Espergærde IF in the Danish 4th division (5th tier) and played at the youth academy of Hellerup IK U19's, the 2nd highest youth league in Denmark," said Robertson. 

"Jakob is a very smart and athletic player with a great sense for goals and assists," Robertson said. "He has a great right-foot and he is notorious for goals. [Jakob] has all the attributes to be a top college player and has experience playing at a high level of soccer in Denmark, which should translate well to our league."
