Emeriau Joins Incoming Statesmen Class

CLEVELAND, Miss. -- Delta State University men's soccer coach Andy Robertson announced the signing of Remi Emeriau to the incoming Statesmen soccer recruiting class.

"I am delighted that we have been able to add Remi to the team for next year," said Robertson. "He is a player we tried to sign him last year, but unfortunately we couldn't make it work."

Emeriau, a Barberaz, France native, spent his first two collegiate seasons at Garden City Community College in Kansas. While there, he garnered second team All-Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference honors his freshman year before being named first team All-KJCCC his sophomore year. Emeriau turned in 16 goals in 29 total matches and led the team with 10 goals in his sophomore campaign.

The incoming senior played in 17 matches last season at Midwestern State. While there, he recorded eight shots and logged a pair of goals in 358 minutes of action.

"Remi is in his last year so he is very motivated to finish on a high, Robertson said. "He gives us a different option to the forwards we currently have, and he has a good record of scoring goals in his last three seasons."
