CLEVELAND, Miss. – The Delta State University women's soccer team fell to Valdosta State University 1-0 on Sunday afternoon at Delta Field.
The Blazers scored a goal in the opening minute and then held on to snap a three-game win streak for the Lady Statesmen.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- On the very first shot of the game, Bailey Hern scored a goal for the Blazers to give them the 1-0 lead.
- Mia Ramirez had the first shot but it was wide for DSU.
- The Lady Statesmen had five more shots in the first half but could not find the back of the net.
- Both Nicola Hauk and Mary Ann O'Kennedy hit the word work in the second half.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- DSU had 15 shots to VSU's five. Delta State had three shots on target while the Blazers had two
- The Lady Statesmen had 11 corner kicks in the contest.
- Delta State has still never defeated Valdosta State the lone draw came in 2013..
- The first time DSU had three straight shutout wins was in 2008 when DSU beat Robert Morris-Springfield, Robert Morris-Lake County, and Central Baptist.
