CLEVELAND, Miss. -- Delta State University student-athletes Jawone Blankenship and Gillian Pratt were named the Guaranty Bank Featured Student-Athletes of the Week after their performances this past weekend on the diving board. 

Blankenship, a diver for the Statesmen swimming and diving team, posted a score of 476.73 on the one-meter diving board to win the one-meter competition. He also secured a score of 303.45 on the three-meter diving board, sweeping both diving competitions for the Statesmen. 

Both of his scores were good enough to qualify him for the NCAA national championships with a "B" consideration score. 

Delta State women's diver Gillian Pratt was named the other Guaranty Bank Featured Student-Athlete of the Week after she secured a win in the one-meter diving competition.

Pratt posted a 427.22 score on the one-meter diving board that earned her a first-place finish against Rhodes, and was also good enough to qualify her for the NCAA national championships with a "B" consideration score. 

Pratt also finished second in the three-meter diving competition with a score of 249.60.

Delta State is back in action on Friday, Oct. 22, and Saturday, Oct. 23, when they travel to the state of Missouri to take on Missouri S&T and McKendree University.
