CLEVELAND, Miss. -- The Delta State University women's soccer team fought to its second consecutive draw on Friday afternoon with a 1-1 tie against the University of West Florida.
On a wet and sloppy field, chances were few and far between as DSU got the opening goal of the game before UWF earned the equalizer in the 84th minute.
Neither team was able to score in the overtime period and both teams earned a point in the Gulf South Conference standings. This was the first time in school history DSU has gotten a result against the Argonauts.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Neither team was able to get shot of until the 12th minute when UWF attempted the first shot that went wide.
- Mia Ramirez had the first shot for DSU but it went wide left.
- Nicola Hauk had a shot on a free kick that forced a save from the goal keeper for UWF.
- DSU struck first on a counter attack in the 32nd minute. Ramirez slotted a pass across the face of the goal and Robyn Moody slotted it into the back of the net.
- UWF turned the pressure up in the second half and forced Amanda Hilliard into several saves in the first ten minutes of the period.
- Julia Comin for UWF scored the equalizer in the 84th minute.
- Mary Ann O'Kennedy had the only shot for either team in the overtime periods but it was saved.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- DSU had 10 shots to UWF's eight. Both teams had four shots on goal.
- Moody's goal was the first of her Delta State career.
- There were a combined 38 fouls in the contest as UWF had 23 and DSU had 15.
- Ilse Holtkamp earned a yellow card for the Lady Statesmen.

Delta State will host Spring Hill College at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday afternoon at Delta Field. The Lady Statesmen will also recognize eight seniors for senior day before the game.
