HUNTSVILLE, Ala. -- The Delta State University women's soccer team used two first half goals to defeat the University of Alabama in Huntsville Chargers 2-0 on Sunday afternoon.
Lavinia Horning and
Nicola Hauk each scored a goal for the Lady Statesmen.
It was the second straight shutout for the Lady Statesmen and the third of the season. DSU has now won four straight games over UAH.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- UAH had two early shots, one hit the cross bar and Amanda Hilliard saved the other.
- In the 16th minute, Horning scored the opening goal on an assist from Rainey Niles.
- Hauk scored on a free kick from just outside the 18-yard box.
- The Lady Statesmen had a flurry of shots right before the half, but UAH was able to keep DSU off the board.
- In the second half, DSU only had three more shots and UAH only attempted two shots as well.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- DSU had 10 shots to UAH's five. Both teams had two shots on target.
- UAH had 11 fouls and the Lady Statesmen committed five.
- Hauk scored her second goal of the season.
- Horning scored her third goal of the season and had her second straight game with a score.
- After losing the first four games of the season, DSU has won five of the last six games to improve their record to 5-5.
