CLINTON, Miss. -- The Delta State University women's soccer team scored a pair of goals in the final four minutes of regulation to force overtime, but Mississippi College scored in the last 25 seconds of the second overtime to steal the win.
With the loss, the Lady Statesmen are set as the No. 3 seed in the upcoming Gulf South Conference tournament and play host to the No. 6 seed on Sunday, Nov. 7 at Delta Field at 1 p.m.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- A Mia Ramirez goal in the 11th minute opened the scoring and gave Delta State an early lead.
- Mississippi College drew even in the 32nd minute, as Avery Hederman's penalty kick tied the game 1-1.
- Roughly six minutes later, MC took a 2-1 lead on a Kaylee Foster goal, and that was the halftime score.
- The two squads came out of the halftime break playing scoreless soccer, but MC found goal number three of the day in the 71st minute to take a 3-1 lead.
- The Lady Statesmen weren't done yet, however, as Poppy Derhun finished a pass from Jae'lasha Julien to get back within a goal in the 86th minute.
- Delta State found the equalizer in the 88th minute, as Julien slotted home a Robyn Moody pass to tie the game 3-3.
- The teams played the first overtime period scoreless, and battled in the second overtime period before MC's Foster scored the game-winner to seal the win.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- MC had 24 shots to DSU's 12.
- Delta State finishes the regular season with a school record for wins (8). They also finish the regular season with the best GSC record in school history.
- Ramirez and Julien each tallied their fifth goal of the season and sit tied for the team lead in that category.
