CLEVELAND, Tenn. -- The Delta State University Lady Statesmen split a Saturday afternoon doubleheader with the Lady Flames of Lee University to close the series. The Lady Statesmen dropped game two 11-3 before edging the Lady Flames in a 6-4 victory in game three.

GAME 2
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Lady Statesmen took an early 1-0 lead in the top of the second, after a single to right field by Summer Cryder.
- In the top of the third, DSU extended their lead 3-0. Kailyn Lofton scored on a wild pitch. To end the inning Jaclyn Deason's SAC-fly scored Hope Harbin.
- In the bottom of the third, Lee cut the Lady Statesmen lead 3-2. Laney Harris doubled down the left field line which scored Lily Hatcher and Kayla Louie.
- In the bottom of the fourth, the Flames tacked on six runs to take a 8-3 lead. Madison Besaw SAC-fly scored Abby McKinney to start the inning. Madison Richards and Kayla Gooch scored on a fielding error by the Lady Statesmen. To end the inning Taylor De Adder hit a homerun which scored Hatcher and Louie.
- In the bottom of the fifth, the Lady Flames sealed the 11-3 win with a fielding error that brought Anna Marie Stooksbury across the plate. De Adder closed the game with a single to center field bringing home Hatcher.
IN THE CIRCLE
- Olivia Burns (2-6) took the loss for Delta State. Burns gave up six hits and seven runs in three and a third innings.
- Brookelyn Sweeney would come in to relieve Burns. Sweeney gave up four runs off five hits in one and a third inning of work.
- Taylor De Adder (3-1) would earn the win for the Lady Flames. De Adder gave up six hits and three runs in five innings of work.

- Cryder went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Green and White took an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first. After a single by Kailyn Lofton which scored Summer Cryder
- The Lady Statesmen would extend their lead 3-0 in the top of the second. Olivia Burns doubled to center field which crossed Hope Harbin across Homeplate. Raegan Stafford singled to left field brining home Burns to close out the inning.
- In the top of the fourth, The Lady Statesmen would expand their lead 6-0 for their last runs of the inning. Stafford doubled to left center which scored Tori Pettit and Sara Lawrence. To end the inning Cryder scored on a SAC-fly by Jenny Griggers.
- In the bottom of the fourth, the Lady Flames would end the scoring drought and cut the lead 6-3. Laney Harris's SAC-Fly scored Kayla Louie. A fielding error helped Lily Hatcher score. To close out the fourth Anna Marie Stooksbury's singled up the middle-scored Taylor De Adder.
- In the bottom of the sixth, Lee would score their last run to end the close out the 6-4 game. Stooksbury doubled to left center which scored Annalyn Ormsby.
IN THE CIRCLE
- Lacey Coats (10-2) started and earned the win for the Green and White. Coats gave up seven hits and four runs in seven innings of work.
- Mallory Orchard (1-3) took the loss for the Lady Flames. Orchard gave up three runs off four hits through two and a third innings.
- Madison Barnett would come in to relive Orchard. Barnett would give up three runs on two hits.
- Grace Leslie would close for Lee. Leslie gave up just three hits in three innings of action.
NOTABLES (GM 2)
- Burns went 3-for-3 with one RBI.
- Stafford and Lofton went 2-for-2 with a total of four RBI's.
- Coats is now on a six-game win streak as the starting pitcher.
