Katheryne Valencia Perez were named the Guaranty Bank Featured Athletes of the Week after their performances this past weekend.

Christian Day was named a Guaranty Bank Featured Athlete of the Week after he tossed 8.0 innings of three hit baseball in an 8-1 win to cap a doubleheader sweep of Christian Brothers University.
Day, who worked 8.0 innings and gave up a single unearned run on three hits. He did not walk a batter, and struck out five Bucs hitters.
The Natchez, Miss. native also retired 18 of the last 19 Bucs hitters that he faced from the third inning through the eighth inning en route to his second win of the year.
The Statesmen return to the diamond on Friday, April 2 as DSU hosts Valdosta State for the first game of a three-game weekend at Harvey Stadium-Ferriss Field.

Katheryne Valencia Perez was named a Guaranty Bank Featured Athlete of the Week after she won a pair of matches against the University of West Florida and the University of West Georgia.
Perez secured the lone point for the Lady Statesmen against the Argonauts, as she defeated Raissa Wagner at the No. 6 singles spot 4-6, 6-2, 1-0.
Perez then helped the Lady Statesmen to a 5-1 win over the University of West Georgia Wolves 5-1, as she defeated UWG's Katarina Karm 6-0, 6-0 to help Delta State secure its second victory in three matches.
The Lady Statesmen return to action against Lee University on Sunday, April 2, at 1 p.m at the Devos Tennis Center in Cleveland, Tenn.
