CLEVELAND, Miss. -- The Delta State University Department of Athletics has announced that attendance at Delta State baseball and softball games will be increased from 25 percent to 50 percent.
"We are thankful to be able to increase our fan capacities at baseball and softball games this spring," said Director of Athletics
Mike Kinnison. "All of our other safety measures, including mask wearing, social distancing, etc. will still be in effect, but this allows us to begin a gradual and safe increase at our facilities."
Fans will still be required to wear masks when mobile in and around Harvey Stadium-Ferriss Field and University Field, and stadium seating will remain social distanced.Â
GENERAL GAMEDAY INFORMATION
- Delta State baseball and softball games will be at 50 percent capacity. Fans must wear masks and keep six-feet of social distancing between persons not in the same household.
- All parking lots will be open parking and not require parking permits this year.Â
- Fans are encouraged to arrive early, as lines will be socially distanced and screening will be required prior to entry into the facilities.Â
- Signage will be installed at all ticket booths and ingress/entry points that outlines mandates for all guests to wear face coverings, maintain physical distancing and mandate guests do not enter the stadium if they display any COVID-19 symptoms as outlined by the CDC.Â
- To accommodate a touch-less operation, all tickets will be mobile or print-at-home. All fans are encouraged to help accommodate touch-less operations at point of sales by shifting to cashless transactions. Event staff will be on hand to help fans purchase tickets on their mobile device if tickets are not purchased in advance.
- Fans are encouraged not to bring bags to allow for quicker facility entry. However, for those that do choose to bring a bag, the clear bag policy will be enforced as usual.
- Hand sanitizer stations will be located throughout the venue.
- At the conclusion of the game, spectators will be asked to leave the stadium immediately since players, coaches, and staff will not be permitted to convene postgame.
FACE COVERINGS
- Fans are required to wear a mask/face covering at Harvey Stadium-Ferriss Field and University Field.
CONCESSIONS
- Concessions stands will include a reduced menu. There will be frequent sanitizing of the concession stand.
- Concessions will operate in a single line inside the concourse area.Â
- Fans are encouraged to shift to cashless transactions.Â
ADA/ACCESSIBILITY INFORMATION
- ADA seating is available and requires a reserved ticket for these designated areas. For Accessible seating tickets, contact the DSU Ticket Office at 662-846-4300.
- Only certified service animals are permitted inside University Field and Ferriss Field and must remain on a leash or harness at all times.
FAN CODE OF CONDUCT & VIOLATIONS
Failing to comply with university and athletic policies, including policies requiring face coverings and requirements to maintain physical distancing, are cause for removal from Harvey Stadium-Ferriss Field and University Field. In addition, the following actions are grounds for removal from a Delta State Athletics events:
- Behavior that is unruly, disruptive or illegal in nature.
- Intoxication or other signs of alcohol or substance impairment.
- Offensive language or obscene gestures, including the use of language or gestures: (1) concerning a person's race, ethnicity, color, gender, religion, creed, disability, age, sexual orientation, gender identity/expression or national origin, or (2) to instigate, incite or encourage a confrontation or physical assault.
- Interference with the progress of the event, going onto the field, or throwing any object onto the field.
- Failing to follow instructions of event personnel.
- Verbal or physical harassment.
- Smoking of any kind (including vaping).
- Behavior that detracts from the enjoyment of fellow guests.
- Attempting to sit in a location other than the guest's ticketed seat.
- Conduct that endangers spectators or participants.
- Unreasonably obstructing the view of other patrons.
PROHIBITED ITEMS
- Alcohol
- Artificial noisemakers (air horns, cowbells, whistles, etc.)
- Bags that do not meet the DSU Clear Bag Policy
- Full-face coverings
- Non-service animals
- Outside food, beverages, coolers or containers
- Strollers and children's seats
- Tobacco
- Weapons
