Four Statesmen Earn All-GSC Baseball Honors

FULL ALL-GSC BASEBALL RELEASE

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Kirkland Trahan, Jake Barlow, Hayden White, and Hunter Riggins were selected to the All-Gulf South Conference Baseball first and second teams announced on Wednesday, May 5, 2021.

Barlow and Trahan earned their way onto the All-GSC First-Team, while White and Riggins were selected Second-Team All-GSC.

Barlow, who earns his second First-Team All-GSC selection, leads the Statesmen in home runs (16), RBI (53), 104 total bases, and

Kirkland Trahan 2021 — **Kirkland Trahan**

a .646 slugging percentage. He is third on the team with eight doubles and 38 runs scored and fourth in hit with 48. The Jonesville, La., native ranks second in the GSC in RBI, third in home runs and slugging percentage, ninth in runs scored, and first in sacrifice flies (6).

Trahan is in his first year with the Statesmen leads the Statesmen with 14 doubles and is second in batting average (.342), hits (54), and third in home runs (8), RBI (34), and runs scored (38). His 14 doubles are third in the GSC while ranking ninth in runs scored and hits.

White, who earns his first All-GSC nod, leads the team in batting average (.365), hits (61), and runs scored (40). The junior, first baseman is second on the team in doubles (13), home runs (9),

RBI (43), and total bases (104). White is third in the conference in hits, fourth RBI, and runs scored and fifth in doubles.

Riggins makes his second appearance on the All-GSC squad after earning First-Team All-GSC honors in 2019. Riggins is 7-4 in 12

Hunter Riggins 2021 — **Hunter Riggins**

starts with a 2.81 ERA and 16 walks against 71 strikeouts over 86.1 innings pitched. The Hernando, Miss., product leads the GSC in innings pitched and is second in the league in ERA, batters struck (33) out looking and wins.

The fifth seed Statesmen open play in the 2021 Gulf South Conference Baseball Tournament against No. 4 seed Valdosta State at approximately 1 p.m. on Friday, May 7 at Choccolooco Park p.m. in Oxford, Ala.
