CLEVELAND, Miss. -- The Delta State University men's soccer team rallied twice on Friday afternoon to tie Ouachita Baptist 2-2 in double overtime.
The two Pablo's for Delta State each scored a goal and helped the Statesmen to the tie. It was the first time in the history of the series that the two teams have tied.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Ouachita Baptist struck quickly with Natnael Abaje finding the back of the net just 1:14 into the contest.
- Pablo Lopez-Melus scored the equalizer in the 24th minute after a pass for Cox. His shot found the back of the net in the bottom left corner.
- Ouachita Baptist retook the lead in the 52nd minute on a breakaway goal from David Stankovic.
- DSU then followed up with even more pressure with shots from Parker Humphrey, Branden Rogers, and Remi Emeriau but no one could breakthrough.
- In the 75th minute, Pablo Herrera broke through on a pass by Swennberg and scored the second equalizer of the game.
- Neither team was able to punch anything into the back of the net during the overtime periods despite multiple shots from the Statesmen.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Delta State outshot OBU 18-10 including nine to four on target.
- Mattis Kloepper had two saves in the tie.
- Mathis Hardy and Herrera both had three shots to lead the Statesmen.
- Herrera now has two goals to lead the Statesmen along with Hardy.
- It was the first career goal for Lopez-Melus.
- The tie snapped a five game winning streak against OBU.
- It is the second straight game to go to double overtime with the Statesmen earning the win 1-0 in 2019.
- DSU has not lost to OBU since 2014.
