CLEVELAND, Miss. -- Fresh off a 45-17 win over McKendree University, the Delta State University football team is ranked No. 22 in this week's American Football Coaches Association Poll released on Monday, Sept. 13, 2021.
The Statesmen are ranked in the AFCA Coaches poll for the first time since Oct. 21, 2017, and are among four ranked teams from the Gulf South Conference.
West Florida holds the top ranking for the third straight week, followed by Valdosta State at No. 4 and West Georgia at No. 18.
Ferriss State holds down the second spot, followed by Northwest Missouri State, Valdosta State, and Lenoir-Rhyne (N.C.).
