MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Delta State University women's soccer team won their second straight Gulf South Conference game on Sunday afternoon.
The Lady Statesmen shutout the Auburn University Montgomery Warhawks 1-0 for their second win of the season.
Jae'lasha Julien scored the lone goal of the contest in the 78th minute on a cross from
Rainey Niles. It was the first career goal for the freshman Julien.
The Lady Statesmen dominated play, taking 17 shots to AUM's five, but could only manage one goal.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Lady Statesmen came out firing as Mia Rameriez took a shot just 90 seconds into the match and forced a save from AUM.
- Carra Hymel and Rainey Niles both had shots a few minutes later that were saved again by Karla Gaytan for AUM.
- The Lady Statesmen had five more shots in the first half but could not find the back of the net.
- DSU continued the pressure in the second half with Poppy Derhun and Carra Hymel both having multiple chances, but could not convert.
- The Lady Statesmen broke through in the 78 minute when Julien slotted a pass from Niles into the back of the net.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- DSU had 17 shots to AUM's five with an eight to two advantage with shots on goal.
- Nine different Lady Statesmen attempted shots during the match, with Robyn Moody attempting four.
- Amanda Hilliard had two saves on her second straight win.
