BOCA RATON, Fla. -- The Lynn University Fighting Knights pounded out 17 runs on 18 hits and, despite five errors defensively, outlasted the Delta State University baseball team 17-13 on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- A Hayden White RBI ground out scored Char Ragland, after he led off the game with a double, to give DSU a 1-0 lead.
- Lynn answered with a two-run home run in the bottom of the frame to take a 2-1 advantage.
- A Carson Clowers RBI single and a White two-run double highlighted a four-run second to build a 5-2 lead.
- Kirkland Trahan's two-RBI single scored Clowers and Ragland as DSU lead 8-4 heading to the bottom of the fourth inning.
- Lynn responded with a six-spot, including a Yuzuki Okamura 3-run homer, as they stormed in front 10-8.
- After two more Fighting Knights runs, Ragland scored on an error, Blayke Dendy ripped an RBI single, Dalton Cummins notched a sac fly, and Dendy scored on a wild pitch to tie the game up 12-12 heading to the seventh.
- Two seventh-inning runs and three in the eighth allowed Lynn to build a 17-13 advantage after Barlow hit a solo homer in the top of the eighth.
- Down to their last three outs, Buxbaum set the Statesmen down in order in the top of the ninth to finish off the Lynn victory.
ON THE MOUND
- Hammer Franks was charged with eight earned runs on nine hits in three and one-third innings.
- Jackson Rutledge took the loss, as he worked 3.2 innings of relief and allowed four runs on five hits.
- Trace McNabb (0.0 innings, two earned runs), Charlie Darnall (0.1, three earned runs), and Steven Lacey (0.2, two hits, one strikeout) also logged work on the mound for the Statesmen.
