ALBERTVILLE, Ala. -- The Delta State University softball team (2-5) dropped a pair of one-run games to Trevecca Nazarene and Carson Newman by the score of 4-3 on Saturday at the Charger Chillout.

- Jenny Griggers delivered a two-out single to center field and scored on a Karley Bloesch double down the right field line in the first inning.
- Alana Walker making a diving grab in left field to end the second inning and preserve DSU's 1-0 lead.
- Griggers singled home Alana Walker to give DSU a 2-0 lead in the fifth.
- Trevecca Nazarene put two runners in scoring position in the fifth but only managed to score a single run.
- DSU starter Olivia Burns posted two strikeouts and a ground out to get the Lady Statesmen out of the fifth leading 2-1.
- TNU scored two unearned runs off of two bases loaded walks to take a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the sixth.
- Azaria Jones' sac-fly scored the game-winning run for the Knights in the bottom of the seventh.

- Oliva Burns (1-2) tossed her second complete game of the Charger Chillout, allowing four runs, one earned, on five hits with three strikeouts for the Lady Statesmen.
- Ashlan Sensing (2-0) struck out 10 while allowing three runs on seven hits to receive the win for TNU.

- Bloesch had a sac-fly while Grigers stole and Griggers walked and later stole home to give the Lady Statesmen a 2-0 lead in the first inning.
- The Lady Eagles plated two runs in the bottom of the third to tie the game, 2-2.
- Katelyn Hayman scored on a throwing error when Reagan Stafford reached on a bunt single to take a 3-2 lead in the fifth.
- CNU scored two in the bottom of the sixth to take a 4-3 lead going to the seventh. The first run scored on a Leah Sohm sac-fly and the go ahead run crossed on an Emily Harris RBI single.

- Lacey Coates took the loss for Delta State, allowing four runs on eight hits with a strikeout.
- Sara King (5-0) yielded one run on three hits with a strikeout over 5.0 innings of relief work in the circle as the winning pitcher for CNU.
