ALBERTVILLE, Ala. -- The Delta State University softball team took both games on the final day of the Charger Chillout on Sunday afternoon.
The Lady Statesmen run-ruled Miles College 11-0 in the first game and then made a comeback to defeat Young Harris College 4-3 on the second game of the day.

- Miles College ground into a double play in the top of the first.
- Nine Lady Statesmen came to the plate in the top of the first. Kailyn Lofton drove in Raegan Stafford for the first run of the game.
- Jenny Griggers and Alyssa Branyan each hit their first home run of the season in the top of the first. Griggers hit a two-run home run to score Lofton.
- In the second inning, Lofton hit a double and brought Stafford home for the second time.
- In the fourth inning, Griggers hit her second home run of the day. This one was a three-run shot giving her five RBI on the day.
- Chrissy Tubbs drove in Campbell Kraft and then Tubbs scored when Alyssa Gover got on base via an error.

- Lacey Coats (2-1) threw a complete game shutout striking out four and only giving up one hit..
- Mikaylah Harris (0-3) earned the loss giving up eight runs on nine hits.
- Shakayla Terry came in for one inning of relief and gave up three runs on four hits.

- Lauren Cooper reached base on an error and then Grace Young doubled to give Young Harris College a 1-0 lead in the top of the first.
- The Lady Statesmen scored two runs in the fourth. Chrissy Tubbs hit a single and then got to second after an error. Alana Walker then singled, and Tubbs scored on another error. Katelyn Hayman finished the inning with a double and drove in Walker.
- Young Harris retook the lead in the top of the sixth when a run scored off a double and an error.
- In the bottom of the sixth, Hayman singled and scored Taylor Picou and MyCala Helms to give DSU the winning runs.

- Olivia Burns (2-2) went the distance and earned the win for DSU. She gave up three runs and only one earned on four hits. She also struck out five.
- Kylie Ferguson (1-1) took the loss giving up four runs on eight hits.

- Griggers went 2-for-3 with five RBI and two runs scored for the Lady Statesmen at the plate against Miles College.
- Hayman was 2-for-3 with three RBI in the win over Young Harris
