Box Score LIVINGSTON, Ala. -- The Delta State University women's basketball team came back from a five-point deficit in the fourth quarter to defeat the University of West Alabama 71-68 on Thursday evening.
After a slow start for the Lady Statesmen, they used a 22-point fourth quarter to earn the win. Tasza Garrett-Hammett UWA led all scorers for UWa with 31 points.
Zyaire Ewing led Delta State with 21 points and 11 rebounds. Ewing was 13-of-18 from the free throw line in the win.
Ke'Vonshaye Stackhouse and
Moriah Hurst both added 17 points for the Green and White.

- Stackhouse was 2-for-3 from three with both coming in the second half. The first one came as time ran down in the third quarter, cutting a seven-point deficit down to four. Then in the fourth quarter, her second three-pointer made cut a five-point deficit down to two.
- Ewing made 13 of 20 free throws for DSU.
- No one but Ewing had more than two rebounds for DSU.
- Only six Lady Statesmen scored against UWA.
- Ewing's double-double was her 13th of the season and eighth in the last nine games.
- The win clinched a spot in the Gulf South Conference basketball tournament.
