HOW IT HAPPENED
- Delta State stranded runners in scoring position in the top of the first and a runner in scoring position in the third and fourth innings.
- The Lions scored three runs in the first, one in the second and third, and four in the bottom of the fourth to build the 9-0 advantage.

- Oliva Burns (0-1) gave up two runs on four hits with a strikeout and a walk in 2.0 innings pitched to take the loss for the Lady Statesmen.
- Morgan Stafford (1-0) tossed a two-hit shutout with six strikeouts to earn the win for the Lions.
