CLEVELAND, Miss. – The Delta State University softball team split the double header with Henderson State University, as
Hannah Hasle got the complete game win for the Lady Statesmen only giving up two runs in seven innings in game two.

HOW IT HAPPENED |
GAME 1
- Henderson State had two hits and a passed ball which brought in the first run of the game.
- The Reddies added three run in the second inning off of three hits and an error from DSU.
- The Lady Statesmen scored their first run in the bottom of the third when Kailyn Lofton drove in Chrissy Tubbs.
- HSU hit two home runs in the fourth inning to score three more runs.
- The Reddies added another run in the top of the fifth inning to make it 8-1.
- Delta State started a comeback in the bottom of the fifth scoring four runs. Jenny Griggers had a sacrifice fly to score Katelyn Hayman. Raegan Stafford then scored on a wild pitch. Taylor Picou hit a triple to center field scoring MyCala Helms and Karley Bloesch.
- Henderson State hit two more home runs in the top of the sixth to extend the lead back to 11-5.
- In the bottom of the sixth, Lofton singled to score Hayman, and then Stafford scored to make it 11-7.
- The last Lady Statesmen run came when Picou doubled to drive in Alyssa Gover.

GAME 1
- Olivia Burns (2-3) went all seven innings for DSU. She gave up 11 runs on 15 hits while striking out four batters.
- Brooke Johnson (2-3) earned the win for HSU. She went four and two-thirds innings giving up four runs on five hits while striking out three.
- Savannah Carrigan pitched in relief going one and one-third innings giving up three runs on two hits.
- Krystal Lindsey picked up the save going one inning and only allowing one run on two hits.

GAME 2
- Delta State scored the first run in the bottom of the second off of a double steal. Tubbs stole second while Alanna Walker stole home.
- Later in the second, Lofton hit a sacrifice fly scoring Tubbs and Hayman scored on the throw to make it 3-0.
- Henderson State got their first runs in the fourth inning when a double scored two for the Reddies.
- In the bottom of the fourth, Picou drove in Lofton and the Jenny Griggers hit a two-run home to give DSU the 6-2 lead.

- Hannah Hasle (2-0) earned the complete game win as she worked all seven innings. She yielded two runs on six hits.
- Krystal Lindsey (0-7) received the loss. She gave up three runs on four hits.
- Emily Bittinger went three innings in relief giving up three runs on six hits.
NOTABLES
- Henderson State hit four home runs in game one. Delta State had only given up two home runs all season coming into the game.
