HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The Delta State University softball team dropped the first game of the weekend series to the University of Alabama-Huntsville on Friday afternoon by a final score of 10-1. The Lady Statesmen committed five errors in the loss which led to six runs.

HOW IT HAPPENED |
GAME 1
- Shelby Booker scored the first run of the game for UAH when she scored on a passed ball in the bottom of the first.
- In the bottom of the second, DSU allowed three errors and a hit which led to four UAH runs.
- DSU scored a run in the third inning when MyCala Helms drove in Jenny Griggers.
- The third inning for UAH brought home five runs off of five hits and two more DSU errors.

GAME 1
- Hannah Hasle (2-1) got the start and received her first loss of the season. She went two and one-third innings giving up nine runs on six hits. Only five of her runs were earned.
- Lacey Coats pitched one and two thirds innings in relief and gave up one run on two hits.
- Layton Murphy (5-3) earned the win for UAH. She went five innings and gave up one run on three hits and struck out six.
