CLEVELAND, Miss. -- The Delta State University softball team used a walk-off, two-RBI double from Olivia Burns to down the Lee (Tenn.) University Lady Flames 2-1 in the last of the seventh inning on Thursday afternoon at University Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Raegan Stafford led off the game and stole second with one out, but the Lady Statesmen were held off the board.
• Katelyn Hayman notched the first base hit of the afternoon to start the third inning and added her eighth stolen base of the season, but DSU again was unable to bring home a runner in scoring position.
• Stafford managed a two-out walk in the fifth and pinch-hitter Chrissy Tubbs tallied an infield single to second base, but the Lady Statesmen were unable to plate a run.
• The Lady Flames used a single, a throwing error, a sacrifice bunt, and a sacrifice fly to score one run in the sixth inning to take a narrow 1-0 lead.
• In the bottom of the seventh inning, MyCala Helms walked and Kailyn Lofton both walked to open the bottom of the inning. 
• After a sac bunt from Hayman, Olivia Burns delivered a pinch-hit, two-RBI double to seal a 2-1 Lady Statesmen win.

IN THE CIRCLE

• Lacey Coats (4-3) worked seven innings in the circle for the Green and White. She allowed one unearned run on four hits, walked three, and struck out one.
