CLEVELAND, Miss. -- The Lee University softball team used a pair of seventh inning rallies to sweep a doubleheader from the Delta State University softball team on a blustery Friday afternoon at University Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED | GM 1
- Lee hit a lead-off home run and also tacked on a sacrifice fly to open the game with an immediate 2-0 lead.
- Each team scored a run in the 4th inning. A Delta State fielding error gave Lee a 3-0 lead, but OIivia Burns answered with a solo home run to make it 3-1.
- A Jenny Griggers RBI double plated Katelyn Hayman as the Lady Statesmen pulled within a run, and a second run scored on the play on a throwing error by Lee to tie the game 3-3.
- Lee hit around in the top of the seventh inning and scored eight runs with the help of seven hits and two errors.
- Burns doubled home Griggers to drive in her second run of the game in the bottom of the seventh.
IN THE CIRCLE | GM 1
- Hannah Hasle earned the start in the circle for the Green and White and allowed three runs on seven hits with two walks in 3.1 innings.
- Burns (2-4) tossed 2.2 innings of relief and was tagged with the loss. She gave up two runs, one earned, and struck out three.
- Makenna Keeton logged one inning and gave up six runs, three earned, with one walk and one struck out.
HOW IT HAPPENED | GM 2
- A Kailyn Lofton RBI single gave the Lady Statesmen a 1-0 lead after two innings of play.
- An RBI double and a solo home run from the Lady Flames gave Lee a 2-1 lead heading into the bottom of the fourth.
- Lofton added a two-RBI single in the last of the fourth to give DSU a 3-2 lead.
- Lee responded with a three-spot in the visitor fifth, as the Lady Flames led 5-3 after five.
- Lofton's squeeze bunt scored MyCala Helms, and Hayman smacked an RBI double to left field as the Lady Statesmen rallied to tie the game 5-5 going into the seventh inning.
- Lee pushed across two runs with two outs in the top of the seventh inning to stake themselves to a 7-5 lead that they held onto to sweep the doubleheader.
IN THE CIRCLE | GM 2
- Lacey Coats (4-4) drew the start in the series finale and worked a complete game. She yielded six earned runs, walked one, and struck out five.
