ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – The Delta State University softball team hit three home run in game two and
Lacey Coats pitched a shutout in game one to complete the doubleheader sweep of Henderson State University on Wednesday afternoon. The two wins have given DSU seven wins in a row which is their longest win streak since 2019.

HOW IT HAPPENED |
GAME 1
- In the top of the first inning, MyCala Helms sacrifice fly scored Alana Walker to giver Delta State the 1-0 lead.
- In the fifth inning, Katelyn Hayman was walked to start the inning. After Alyssa Branyan got on via an error, Kailyn Lofton hit a sacrifice fly to score Hayman. Then Karley Bloesch hit a single to score Alyssa Gover to make it 3-0.
- Hayman then hit a solo home run in the fourth to make it 4-0.
- Henderson State loaded the bases in the bottom of the seventh but grounded into a double play to end the game.

- Lacey Coats (7-4) earned the complete game shutout She gave up only four hits while striking out four.
- Savannah Carrigan (1-7) earned the loss she went seven innings and gave up four runs on four hits and struck out four.

GAME 2
- Lofton hit a two run home run in the top of the first to give DSU a 2-0 lead.
- Three batters later, Jenny Griggers hit a two run home run and made it 4-0.
- Henderson State got the two on base but hit into a double play to end the threat in the bottom of the first.
- In the top of the fourth, Lofton hit a two RBI single to extend the lead to 6-0.
- Henderson State got two runs on three hits in the fourth to climb back into the game.
- In the bottom of the fifth, the Reddies took advantage of two DSU errors and scored a run to make it 6-3.
- Alana Walker drove in Raegan Stafford in the sixth inning to make the lead four runs again at 7-3.
- HSU scored a run in the bottom of the sixth on a wild pitch. Then scored two more runs on a single.
- Jenny Griggers hit her second two run home run of the game in the top of the seventh to make it 9-6.

GAME 2
- Hannah Hasle (4-2) got the start and earned the win for Delta State. She went four inning and gave up three runs on eight hits.
- Makenna Keeton came in to pitch in relief for DSU. She went three innings and picked up the save. In three innings she gave up three runs on one hit and had two strikeouts.
- Monica Monreal took the loss for HSU. She went two innings and gave up five runs on six hits.
- Brooke Johnson came on in relief for the Reddies. She pitched two innings and gave up one run on one hit.
- Krystal Lindsey also pitched for HSU and went two innings giving up one run on two hits.
- Erika Bittenger finished the game for HSU and gave up two runs on two hits.
NOTABLES
- Hayman hit her first career home run for the Lady Statesmen in the first game.
- Lofton and Griggers both had four RBI in game two.
