CLEVELAND, Miss. -- Harrison Haley tossed a complete game with a career-high nine strikeouts to help the Delta State University baseball team claim a 5-2 win over Southern Indiana University on Saturday at Harvey Stadium-Ferriss Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Jake Barlow's solo home run in the second to put the Statesmen ahead 1-0.
- USI plated two runs to take a 2-1 lead. Evan Kahre singled and scored on a Ren Tachioka triple before scoring on an Ethan Hunter single to right.
- Three runs scored in DSU's half of the third as the Statesmen grabbed a 4-2 lead. Carson Clowers reached on an error and later scored on another throwing error and Hayden White connected on his first home run of the season to plate two runs.
- The Statesmen pushed their lead to 5-2 when Blayke Dendy doubled Ragland, who singled.
ON THE MOUND
- Harrison Haley (5-0) tossed his third complete game of the year, striking out nine while yielding two runs on four hits to earn the win.
- Brice Stuteville (3-1) allowed four runs on four hits with a strikeout and two walks to take the loss for USI.
NOTABLES
- Barlow moved into a tie for fourth with Craig Newton (2002-2005) on DSU's career home runs list, belting his 40th homer in the first inning.
- Dendy had a single and a double and with an RBI as the only Statesman with multiple hits.
- White's two-run home run was his first of the 2022 campaign.
- After allowing a single to Ethan Hunter in the third, Haley retired the 20 straight Screaming Eagles to finish the game.
