JACKSON, Tenn. -- The Delta State University softball team dropped the final game of the series to Union University 3-2 on Sunday afternoon.
A solo home run and two-run home run provided the runs for Union in the win. DSU had only one extra-base hit on the day.

HOW IT HAPPENED |
GAME 1
- The Lady Statesmen got singles from Jenny Griggers, Kailyn Lofton, and Taylor Picou in the game's first three innings, but all were left stranded on base.
- Fallon Groves gave Union the 1-0 lead in the bottom of the fourth with a solo home run.
- In the fifth, Macey Neal hit a two-run home run to make the lead 3-0.
- Delta State got its first run of the game in the top of the sixth when Karley Bloesch brought Alana Walker home.
- In the top of the seventh, Olivia Burns and Lofton got hits to get on base.
- When Union changed pitchers, Alyssa Gover, who was pinch running, scored on a wild pitch.
- Union's Laken DiStefano, struck out the side to end the game.

GAME 1
- Lacey Coats (8-6) took the loss for DSU. She went five innings and gave up three runs on eight hits while striking out five.
- Olivia Burns threw one inning for the Lady Statesmen and did not allow a base runner.
- Reese Taylor (5-5) earned the win for Union. She went six innings giving up two runs on seven hits.
- DiStefano earned her third save of the season with three strikeouts in the final inning.
