CLEVELAND, Miss. – Delta State's Lady Statesmen Soccer earned a hard fought 1-0 win over Palm Beach Atlantic University's Sailfish in action at Delta Field Friday afternoon. The defense dominated contest was decided on the only goal of the day by freshman midfielder Taylor Klosterman at the 32:11 mark of the first half.

The Niceville, FL native scored on a header off a corner kick rebound for what would prove to be the difference in the game. The Lady Statesmen had a slight 10-9 shots on goal margin and corner kicks were even at 4-4 for both squads.

Bailey Daugherty had a shutout performance in goal for the Lady Statesmen with 9 saves. Palm Beach University drops to 1-2-1 on the young season while Delta State University improves to 2-1.
