CLEVELAND, Miss. – West Georgia outhits Delta State 23-15 over the first two games of the series as the Wolves clinch the series win on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED - GAME 1
- West Georgia picked up a walk, but left the runner on base. Jonathan Dewberry led the Statesmen half of the first with a single. A sac bunt moved him to second and he later scored on an RBI single by Hayden Cooper. 1-0 Delta State after 1.
- The Wolves plated six runs in the top of the second on seven hits, including a sequence of six at-bats with a hit. Noah Thigpen doubled in the bottom of the second, but the Statesmen didn't respond on the scoreboard. 6-1 West Georgia after 2.
- A leadoff double and a single plated the seventh UWG run in the top of the third. Dewberry drew a walk and advanced to third, but was stranded there. 7-1 West Georgia after 3.
- The fourth inning saw West Georgia strand one runner after a hit as DSU left the bases loaded with two hits. Both teams went in order in the fifth. UWG sent only three to the plate again in the sixth as the Statesmen left two more runners on after Matthew Nichols was hit by a pitch and Noah Thigpen singled. Two more UWG hits plated another Wolf run in the top of the seventh. Brendan McCauley drew a one-out walk and moved to second after a balk. Kirkland Trahan was then intentionally walked. Cooper then hit an RBI single to plate McCauley. 8-2 West Georgia after 7.
- Two hits and a walk aided the Wolves in scoring their ninth run in the top of the eighth. Thigpen singled for the Statesmen in the bottom half of the inning. 9-2 West Georgia after 8.
- A one-out single came around to score for the Wolves in the top of the ninth. Delta State picked up two hits from McCauley and Cooper. 10-2 West Georgia Final.
HOW IT HAPPENED - GAME 2
- A double and an RBI single plated a run for the Wolves in the top of the first. Dewberry drew an HBP to start the Statesmen half of the first. A sac bunt by McCauley moved him to second and a wild pitch put him at third. Trahan drew a walk and Cooper hit a sac fly to center field to score Dewberry. Tied 1-1 after 1.
- The Wolves stranded two as the Statesmen went in order in the second. A two-run home run gave UWG lead the lead in the top of the third. Carson Clowers hit a leadoff double and scored on an RBI double from McCauley two batters later. 3-2 West Georgia after 3.
- Three walks loaded the bases for the Wolves in the fourth. All three came in to score after a passed ball and an RBI single. DSU left one on in the bottom of the fourth. 6-2 West Georgia after 4.
- The Wolves and Statesmen both fell in order in the fifth. A leadoff walk for the Wolves scored on a two-out single in the sixth. Newsom and Cobb singled in the bottom of the sixth. 7-2 West Georgia after 6.
- West Georgia left one on in the top of the seventh. Nichols drew a leadoff walk and Clowers singled to move him to second. A groundout moved the pair into scoring position. McCauley brought Nichols in on a groundout. 7-3 West Georgia Final.
ON THE MOUND
- Game one starter Kameron Koch (L, 1-3) pitched 1.1 innings, allowing six runs on six hits with a strikeout and a walk.
- Logan Cromer came in for Koch and pitched the next 6.1 innings. He allowed three runs on three hits with two strikeouts to one walk.
- Trace McNabb finished game one, pitching the final 1.1 innings. He allowed one run on one hit and picked up a strikeout.
- Game two Starter Drake Fontenot pitched the first 3.1 innings. He allowed five runs on five hits with four strikeouts to three walks.
- Noah Magee pitched 2.2 innings, allowing two runs on two hits with three strikeouts and two walks.
- Cade Hodges pitched the seventh inning of game two, allowing just one hit.
