CLEVELAND, MS – Delta State Football recently unveiled its updated locker room at the Chadwick-Dickson Field House. The new state-of-the-art lockers feature a ventilated shelf, a locking cubby with two power outlets, and padded seats that fold to access additional space.
Head Coach Todd Cooley says the players love the new-look locker room and hopes it motivates them moving forward. He was also very thankful for everyone that helped make the renovations possible, including Athletic Director Mike Kinnison.
"I appreciate Coach Kinnison; we'd been talking about this project for about six years now," said Cooley. "This will help in recruiting and will show our guys that putting forth a good effort on the field and in the class will lead to good things happening to you."
Coach Kinnison was quick to mention the pride that a new locker room would bring to the current players. He also praised the efforts of previous teams, including last year's GSC title winners.
"It's well deserved. They put a tremendous year together for us last year," said Kinnison. "This is a great opportunity to improve their recruiting while inspiring the current players because Delta State is a special place."
"I'm just so appreciative of everything. The facility looks first class and is first class," said Cooley. "At the end of the day, we know it's what comes out of that locker room and what we put on the field that matters the most."
