Cleveland, Miss. – The Delta State University Men's Basketball team hosted Shorter University for the first GSC matchup of the new year. The Statesmen started the new year showcasing their high-powered offense by defeating Shorter to start the new year. The first half saw DSU start off slow but by the end of the half, the Green and White scored 46 points while only allowing 30 points. The second half was a different game with the Hawks pressing the entire half. The Green and White stayed poised scoring 53 points in the half, defeating the Hawks 99-85.
The game saw a total of 46 fouls combined.
Caleb Allen led all scorers in the game with 18 points. DSU had five players score in double digits in the game tonight.
