CLEVELAND, MISS. – The Delta State University men's soccer team (2-3-5, 1-2-2 GSC) fell to the Choctaws of Mississippi College 2-0 Friday (Oct. 11) afternoon at Delta Field
The Choctaws grabbed an early goal in the seventh minute of the game on a long through ball saw the Choctaws take a 1-0 lead.
Then a second yellow card in the 41st minute saw the Statesmen go down to ten men for the remaining 50 minutes.
The Statesmen had an opportunity to tie it at one but an
Alfie Lally penalty was saved by the Choctaw keeper in the 66th and the Choctaws continued with their second goal of the match in the 75th minute.
The Statesmen will be back in action at home next Friday (Oct. 18) at 3:30 PM CDT as they continue GSC conference play against the University Of Alabama at Huntsville.
