Lady Statesmen Fall to Montevallo in 1-0 Battle

MONTEVALLO, ALA. – The Delta State University women's soccer team (2-3-4, 1-2-3 GSC) fell on the road to the Falcons from the University of Montevallo (7-2-1, 6-1-0 GSC) 1-0 Saturday (Oct. 12) afternoon at Varsity Field.
 
The Lady Statesmen had opportunities including two of the five shots on goal from Freshman Yalitza Zepeda.
 
Olivia Griffin had four saves in the contest.
 
After a scoreless first half, the Falcons would score ten minutes into the second half to take a 1-0 lead and hold on for the remaining 35 minutes.
 
The Lady Statesmen come back home to Delta Field next Friday to host the Chargers from the University of Alabama at Huntsville. Kickoff will be a 1:00 p.m.
